10 Things You Maybe Don't Know About Me

Happy Tuesday! Where is Fall?I love warm weather but I am definitely ready for the cooler weather to present itself. However, once its here, it will turn cold and icy soon, which I am not ready for that at all. Fun fact, Fall is my favorite time of year! Interested in learning more fun facts? Here's 10 things you maybe don't know about me...

1. My first plane ride was just last year. Picture below!

Yup! 2017 was the first time I ever traveled on a plan. Growing up my parents either drove to our vacation spots or took a bus. Our vacations mainly focused on seeing family. However, one trip we drove all the way to Canada, it was great seeing as how you didn't need a passport back then. I look forward to road trips with my future family, because those are the times where you really bond.

2. In the womb I had a twin, that vanished "absorbed."

My mother doesn't speak about this much. She did tell me I had a twin and somehow it just went away. She doesn't ever go into much detail about it, but I always thought it was so cool. I have siblings, but they are 17+ years older than me, so I grew up like an only child. I always felt like there was missing piece or something/someone should have been here.

3. I was born without a baby toe-nail.

Okay, TMI? Probably yeah..but not many know that about me unless you've been up close and personal with my feet lol. I like to say, it was only deformity seeing as how my mother had me two weeks before she turned 40. It doesn't ever bother me, except when I go to get a pedicure. I've maybe attempted to ask for discount since they're only painting 8 toes "Kanye Shrug"

4. I loathe chocolate.

Will I eat your occasional brownie or Hershey's Kiss? Possibly so, but it is never my go-to type of treat. I've never been a fan of the taste of chocolate. I am more of vanilla or caramel type of person when it comes to dessert flavoring. Now, offer me some gummies and we will be best of friends!

5. I hate eating and not watching something good on TV.

If I am eating at home this my biggest pet peeve. It makes me very antsy if I sit down to eat and cannot find something on the tube to watch. It makes the whole eating experience better when I have a good show with my meal.

6. I'm currently working on..

I am attempting to end this year with a more positive outlook on life. My goals are focusing on mindfulness and connecting more spiritually with God.

7. I wear a size 13 shoe.

I swear my feet do not look that big! Growing up I always wore a bigger size shoe and it was/still is a headache. Do not get me started on shoe shopping. I've definitely made strides in finding cute shoes for my size, but it is not easy, trust me. Side-note - Be on the look-out for a future blog post all about this exact topic!

8. I shaved my head freshman year of college. EEEK I looked like a boy!

Yes, I went through that whole finding myself period and shaved my head. Well that's what I told people, at least. What really happen is that I got hair glue stuck in my head from a poorly installed wig by a friend. I stayed up crying all night, cutting out chunks of my hair. My hair wasn't in the best shape anyway at that time. So it gave me the chance to stay on this natural hair journey.

9. I have a fear of birds or Ornithophobia.

First off, have you seen the movie The Birds?! True terror, if you ask me. If you are in public with me I am that person running/ducking if a bird even comes near me!

10. I worked 10 years at a haunted house.

I volunteered every October at a haunted house that raised money for a deaf school. It was a glorious time as I made many friends and developed many skills. I went from being one of the scary actors, to a floor monitor, and then FX makeup artist. I also won the MVP award for one of years I worked there.

This list was surprisingly harder to formulate than I had thought. It brought back many memories as I had to go through my personal time-line of my life. It's always good to reflect on where you have been and how you got there. I hope this small glimpse of my life added a bit of cheer to your day! Now that I've told you about myself, in the comments below let me know 1 or 2 things people might not know about you!
