5 New Years Commitments, not Resolutions!

Bye 2018, see ya never! I am overly eager for this year to come to an end. If I had to describe it in five words it would eye-opening, eventful, entertaining, triggering, and blessed. 2018 overall taught me a lot life lessons that I am going to carry into 2019 and beyond.

Everyone starts the year with the age old promise to fulfill their New Year’s Resolutions. How often do those resolutions pan out? From what I’ve experienced in my own life they don’t. The definition of a resolution, “a firm decision to do or not to do something” or “the action of solving a problem, dispute, or contentious matter.”

I do have plans scheduled for this New Year. I don’t want the option with a resolution of either doing it or not. So, I am making 5 commitments for 2019. Commitment definition, “the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc.” or “an engagement or obligation that restricts freedom of action.” A commitment has more hold and reverence for failure.

My 5 Commitments for 2019

Continue this blog and the journey associated with it. I have had a habit of abandoning my interests in the past. I want this space to continue into 2019 and not just for myself, but all of you out there as well.

Transform my spiritual connection with God. I was baptized Catholic and for the most part align with the message of Christianity. However, as like most other their religion was chose for them. I want to explore and find my own connection within my spirituality.

Travel. I traveled the most I ever have in my life in 2018. I want that to continue into 2019 by going to bigger and better places.

Fix financial disciplinary actions for myself. Ya girl likes to spend, usually within reason, but as I get older I need to focus more on saving, getting those student loans paid, (universal sigh) and securing more bags!

Find a good health balance within my life. This includes, physical and mental components. Health is wealth so it is important, for me, grow in both those areas.

2019 I am ready for you. Bring it on! These 5 commitments will be tackled and accomplished. These commitments are for a life-time. I commit myself to happiness and self-love. These 5 commitments will lead me to finding of all that and more. Let the journey begin!

So, how was 2018 for you? In 5 words describe 2018. What’s your commitment for 2019? Let me know all of that in the comments!
