Oh makeup, how I do adore thy! No, but for-real I have been a lover of makeup for as long as I can remember. Now, how are my makeup skills? Well, improvements have surely developed and magnified in skill. I feel that I am in a comfortable position with my different makeup routines to say I at least have a pretty good handling on it. Yes, I said ROUTINES, because there are just several different looks depending on the occasion that require a certain look. However, to be honest half of the time it is just a quick ‘get ready for work, out the door, don’t be late’ type of look.

I am always on the lookout for different products, and love trying new items to enhance whatever look I am attempting to reach. It can become very expensive to continue buying different products, so I think the best route to choose is to try a makeup subscription service. This service can be utilized if you are an avid makeup lover like me or just don’t know where to start with your beauty regime. Makeup subscriptions has definitely improved my makeup skills while saving ya’ girl some coins! I am currently subscribed to two beauty type of subscription services. Those are Ipsy and Boxycharm.

I first tried Ipsy. “Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that is $10 per month and provides subscribers with a makeup bag of five cosmetic samples. The products include skincare items, perfumes, nail and skin products, and makeup” (Wikipedia). Ipsy has been lovely when it comes to receiving travel sized items, and the hand-size makeup bag comes in handy when traveling. I enjoy Ipsy since they tailor it to your preferences from a survey you fill-out when becoming a member. It is not always spot on to the things I selected, but nevertheless it is always exciting to see what each month will bring for the new bag. Lastly, Ipsy always has an uplifting message included in the bag that gives a fresh breathe of positivity to the beauty subscriber.

Boxycharm is another subscription service that I pay for each month. Boxycharm is a similar beauty related monthly box that is around $21 per month. They offer 4-5 full size products worth over $100(Boxycharm.com). The products that you receive in comparison to Ipsy are a bit more luxurious, as one would think due to the higher price. However, in my opinion it is definitely worth the additional $10. As a makeup enthusiast Boxycharm is a gem when it comes to the quality and quantity on the products received each month. If you aren’t as interested in makeup, there are also skin-care related products that have been included in some of my past Boxycharm boxes. Recently Boxycharm introduced an upgrade opportunity for their members to get an even bigger box meaning more products called, BoxyLuxe! This month was the first-time Boxycharm introduced this upgrade option for clients. There was an additional fee for $28 on top of the normal rate of $21, however, I received 12 items totaling over $300! In my eyes, it was more than worth the extra payment for all of what was included in my box. This upgrade will happen every 3 months in the year.

So, do you love make-up? Does make-up scare you? Are you going into the store and have no idea where to start? My suggestion is to try a make-up subscription service! You get to try new products each month and the cost is set at one low price. Whether you are just entering the make-up game or an overall novice, I positively suggest testing out one of the many subscriptions out there!
