This past Saturday I was invited to attend a paint and sip class. This class was located at Elliot Jordan's personal gallery located in Pleasant Ridge, Ohio. It has been in existence for 23 years. However, this was my first time attending one of his classes.
I have done similar painting classes in the past and I enjoy expressing my artistic creative side. I am not the most skilled when it comes to that type of artistry. Nevertheless, it is fun to mingle and attempt to recreate the portrait while sipping on a nice alcoholic beverage lol!
Elliot Jordan is the nicest and most sincere person. If you've experienced similar paint and sip classes then you may be familiar with certain instructors overly structured teaching method. Elliot was very passionate about us taking on our own rendition of the portrait he displayed for us to mimic in our painting. I felt extremely relaxed and not stressed to compete with his level of artistic ability or others around me. Elliot even included an ice breaker to relax us which was a lot of fun giving I didn't personally know anyone attending the class.
His studio is small which makes the whole experience very intimate and inviting. The walls displayed countless images of his beautiful artwork. He had all different types ranging from, acrylics, portraits, charcoal, pastel, oils and etc covering every inch of his studio.
We also enjoyed samples from Esoteric Brewing Company. Brian Jackson, Elliot's nephew is starting up a brewing company in Walnut Hills. Brian let us try their amber and porter beers. They were delicious! I am super excited to frequent this brewing company when it opens within the next year. Brian explained, this brewery will have a completely different vibe compared to your typical type of brewery. In addition, if you are looking for a cool investment opportunity than look no further! For a minimum of $100 you can invest in Esoteric Brewing Company!
"Esoteric will redefine the standard taproom by creating a 5 star experience. We’re renovating the Paramount Building, the most recognizable building in Walnut Hills. Inside this exquisite 1920’s art deco style building, an intimate taproom awaits hearkening back to the days of the prohibition speakeasy. The brewery will occupy 10,000 sf, and will host as many as 400 guests. But unlike the standard warehouse taprooms of today, we’ll have a warm & inviting place built just for you"(Esoteric)
Overall, this was a lovely event coordinated by Stephanie (Owner and Content Creator for Consistently Curious). I highly recommend organizing a class for your group of friends or even yourself with the kind-heartened and talented Elliot Jordan. He offers personal self portraits too which could be an excellent gift for the holidays!
