Last Minute Halloween Costume Ideas!

Halloween is around the corner, and by corner I mean tomorrow. Are you prepared? Do you have your costume? Sadly this year I am not celebrating due to traveling for work. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays because it gives you chance to dress up out of your normal character. I have definitely worn some interesting costumes in past years. However, most of my costumes were last-minute due to some serious procrastination.

Most of my costume ideas were things I found in my closet or borrowed from a friend. Halloween does not have to be expensive if you just use your resources!

Here's a few of my past Halloween BUDGET friendly costumes...

Scarecrow - This costume was a few years back in college. I wish I got a close-up of the makeup but it was really easy to do. I just searched on Pinterest and there was a pin that gave step-by-step instructions on how to do the makeup look. The outfit is definitely in your closest. Just get a plaid shirt, floppy beach hat, and "borrow" some local hay!

Vamipress - This is another costume where I found majority of the attire in my closet. I had the cape from a previous costume, but everything else I wore came from my wardrobe. I did go to the Halloween store to purchase some fake blood and fangs, but that was all under $10!

Bearded Lady - I noted in a previous post 10 Things You Maybe Don't Know About Me that I worked in a haunted house. Well, one character I played was a bearded lady. Surprisingly it did not take much effort to achieve this costume look. As you can see it just requires makeup enhanced features and a beard. You could make an easy beard by using a cheap wig and some elastic straps!

1920s Flapper - I did spend a bit of money on this costume but it is definitely not required. The clothes were all in my closet and majority of the jewelry was already mine. My favorite part of this costume was the eyebrows. Skinny thin eyebrows were very popular back then, so I concealed my eye original eyebrows and made them appear thin. Youtube was definitely my friend to make them look authentic.

Maleficent - This costume may require more money but I actually didn't pay a single dime for it. My friend loaned the hat and scepter to me. I already had the cape and just wore a simple black dress underneath. So when looking for a Halloween costume hit up your friends to see if they have any old costumes they aren't using this year.

Burlesque Dancer - If all else splurge like I did on this costume! I needed some va-va-voom that year so I spent more than usual on a costume. It is one night out of year that you get to go all out in attire, so why not? Plus I have used this costume for many other Halloween outings since I originally bought it!

I hope this post gave you some ideas if you are a last minute Halloween costumer like my self. If all else, the age old bunny or cat costume would do too! Hope you have a Happy Halloween!

Let me know in the comments your Halloween costume this year!
